Scope and Contents

This record group contains digital formats, including CDs, DVDs, floppy disks, and Digital Audio Tape (DAT). Content includes audiovisual recordings, digital photographs, and other documents. Please note that because of the volume, not every CD or other carrier was described here, though the the files were preserved and will be found in the virtual "box" noted in Subseries I.A.

Arrangement

The record group is organized in two series:

Series I. Processed digital content, which includes digital files available for use.

Series II. Unprocessed digital media formats, which includes those media formats not yet processed and not available for use.

Conditions Governing Use

The external media carriers are restricted from use. Digital files transferred off the external media carriers are available for use (see Subseries I.A). A full file manifest is available upon request. Digital files were not retrieved from damaged, duplicate, and commercially available CDs or due to disk formatting issues. Audiovisual media and 5.25-inch floppy disks were not processed due to the lack of necessary hardware.

Scope and Contents

This series consists of the physical CDs, DVDs, 3.5 inch floppy disks, and other digital media in the collection that have been processed, and the digital files that have been retrieved and preserved from most of that media. Digital files were not retrieved from damaged, duplicate, and commercially available CDs or due to disk formatting issues. Subseries I.A includes the digital files which may be requested and accessed. Subseries I.B refers to the media and, based on the labeling, provides a sense of the scope and content of the digital files.

Scope and Contents

This series contains reference to the media carriers from which the digital files in Subseries I.A were retrieved. Because of the volume, not necessarily every CD or other carrier in the box was described here, though the the files were preserved and will be found in the virtual "box" noted in Subseries I.A.

Arrangement

The subseries is presented in the order of the boxes in which the carrier is held, which corresponds to the virtual "box" that the digital files are held (see Subseries I.A). Within each box, the presentation in the finding aid is by format.
