Matthusen, Paula

The website contains a biography of the artist, information about her works and projects, examples of her works in the form of embedded audio files, and articles written about Matthusen and her works. The compositions featured on the site make use of electronic and traditional instruments as well as everyday objects to create sound installations and music. Site capture began in May 2014. between systems and grounds is a collaboration between composer Paula Matthusen and visual artist Olivia Valentine, drawing on a mutually developed practice combining textile construction and electronics in real-time, launched in 2016. The project grows with each iteration and performance, integrating field recordings, radio signals, feedback, and a system of cues that all contribute to the slowly-growing textile. The website contains their album, a radio station of their audio, and dates of previous performances.
