Biographical Note
Gilbert "Gil" Rogin started at Time Inc. in 1955 as Sports Illustrated newsmarker at the clipping desk. He worked his way up at Sports Illustrated becoming the Managing Editor in 1982. In 1983, Rogin briefly held a corporate editorial position as a special assistant to Editor-in-Chief Henry Grunwald. This may have been part of the rotating program to give various managing editors experience in the corporate editorial office. In 1984, he became the Discover Managing Editor and stayed in this position until its closure. He took over as Corporate Editor in 1987, replacing Jason McManus.
