Scope and Content Note

The 28-minute documentary Who's Running the Show? (Quien Dinge la Batuta) is narrated by Ernesto Bravo, and follows a news reporting style with on-the-street interviews by Estela Bravo to capture the opinions of the protesters and people in the area. The film also shows footage of crowds during the protests, and reactions of elected officials.

Historical/Biographical Note

For four days, during Easter Week in 1987, the Argentine people demonstrated in the streets to prevent a military coup that threatened to overturn the elected government. The title of the documentary is taken from a popular chant of the protesters, which asked, "Who's running the show - the military or the people?"
