In the interview, Bocar discusses her racially ambiguous appearance; involvement in the artistic community; participation in the Occupy Wall Street movement; political convictions; encounters with racism; parents' courtship and marriage; trips to the Philippines; and family's Christian traditions. Biographical note

Leina Bocar was born to an Irish American mother and a Filipino father in Oklahoma. Bocar received a B.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Illinois and studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, England, Metàfora in Barcelona, Spain, and the New School in New York City.
