The Investor Relations Files document Time Inc.'s correspondence with shareholders and its financial relationships with subsidiaries in terms of stock and investments. Of interest is a copy of the December 6, 1922 board meeting minutes and resolutions with an analysis of stockholders in the Manager of Corporate Analysis and Manager of Shareholder Relations Files.

Scope and Contents Note
Vice President J. Winston Fowlkes files document his work compiling information for inclusion in the Time Inc. annual reports and investor factbooks and organizing the printing. Records include memoranda from various other members of the annual reports committee and other staff, including annual reports publisher Edgar Smith, a retired vice president of Time Inc.; invoices; press releases of major company accomplishments and changes over that year; photographic material; meeting agenda; production timelines; reports on comments; and drafts of the annual reports.

Biographical Note
From 1970 through 1978, J. Winston Fowlkes served as the assistant treasurer for Time Inc. In 1979, he was promoted to treasurer. Fowlkes served as treasurer until 1983 when he became a vice president and director of investor relations within the Finance Division of the corporate group, a position in which he remained until 1986. Additionally, Fowlkes is listed as a member of Time Inc.'s 1984 and 1985 annual report committees. Fowlkes resigned from Time Inc. in February 1987. According to his correspondence, he transitioned into investment banking.

Scope and Contents Note
Allen Barr's files include his chron file of correspondence and his subject files while he was the director of investor relations and assistant treasurer of Time Inc. The majority of the records pertain to investor relations. Some records were transferred to him by others in the Finance Division such as Victor Sauerhoff in financial planning and Treasurer U. L. "Pete" Uebelhoer.
Barr's chron file contains correspondence with Time Inc. shareholders, Time Inc. chief financial officer Thayer Bigelow, and copies of memoranda with attachments distributing current Time Inc. financial reports and other information to treasurer's office staff, heads of other finance departments, and other executive staff; meeting notes; memoranda to file with notes on dividends; and analysis reports from outside companies. The annual reports files include distribution instructions, drafts and a proof copy, and proposals for changes. The analysts meetings files include attendee lists, reports, and presentation speeches. His speech files are primarily a collection of other Time Inc. executives' speeches although contains his speech at Diawa.

Scope and Contents
This series contains primarily files from Manager of Corporate Analysis and Shareholder Relations Barbara Sangerman with some files from Time Inc. Assistant Secretary Carolyn McCandless, who looks like Sangerman's supervisor, and from Sangerman's assistant Ann Hagen. Also included are some older files from the Time Inc. Corporate Secretary Peter Sheppe and various other investor relations staff.
Records include correspondence with shareholders, reports and other information regarding Time Inc.'s stock performance, and records on the maintenance of investor financial records. The "Stock: Miscellaneous" file contains a collection of older materials about Time Inc. stock ownership including a copy of the December 6, 1922 board meeting minutes and resolutions with an analysis of stockholders.
