Scope and Contents
Series V. Community Organizing contains materials related to Torr's activities in community organizations and political advocacy groups, including newsletters, bulletins, zines, ephemera, awards, meeting minutes and notes, correspondence, contact lists, and budget reports. Organizations particularly well-represented in this series include FTM International, PONY (Prostitutes of New York), and the Guerrilla Girls. The series also contains artistic community projects such as drag king calendars in 1994 and 2004, and Annie Sprinkle's "Post-Modern Pin-ups: Pleasure Activist Playing Cards" (1995); community archiving projects such as Franklin Furnace's "Archives of the Avant-Garde" and Glasgow Women's Library "Documenting 109" Project; and organizing documents for community art spaces, such as Chez Bushwick and the Work Room Studio.
