Scope and Contents

These assorted series, featuring rhymed cautionary tales, were based upon Heinz Hoffman's popular German children's book, Shock-Headed Peter. All titles of the Father's Series are present. The Aunt Grumbles Series was reprinted, with color added, from the Peter Prim's Series and Little Slovenly Peter's Series. These series were published circa 1850s to 1890s.
