Scope and Content Note

This series includes NOW-NYC artifacts, ephemera, and graphic materials. Materials include protest signs and fabric banners whose topics include reproductive rights and the Equal Rights Amendment; the 1984 Presidential Election, specifically anti-Ronald Reagan and pro-Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro; sexual discrimination and domestic violence; gay rights; and opposition to societal beauty standards. This series also contains posters and templates for protest signs; buttons, name tags, and t-shirts; and paper materials including essays, sheet music, cartoons, and greeting cards.
