Scope and Contents Note
Records include radio and television appearance schedules for Time Inc. staff interviews; correspondence with show hosts and news directors to pitch possible topics and interviewees and to coordinate appearances; press releases; memoranda from the interviewees reporting on their interview experiences; booking sheets; and notes to file on reactions to the pitches and interviews. Frequent interviewees were corporate editorial staff; Time editorial staff, photojournalists, and correspondents; and magazine ad promotion directors.

Historical Note
The first listing of the Radio/TV Publicity Office in the Department Head Lists in the Time Inc. Reference Files is in 1974. According to Robert Sweeney's files in Time Public Affairs, the office existed as early as 1964 with Lisa Fillman as the manager. Marilyn Sahner was the director from 1974 through her retirement in 1991. Katharine Trowbridge Carroll, then Patti Strauss were Assistant Directors.
