The treasurer's book is a manuscript general ledger documenting the society's income and expenses from 1785 to 1860. Treasurer's records for the period after 1860 exist within the subseries Minutes and Annual Reports.

Minutes (1835 - 1989) provide an account of the Society's activities and include information related to charitable giving, membership, constitutional changes, and other facets of the organization's operation. Bound minutes are in some cases supplemented, or in later years, replaced by foldered material that includes correspondence, agendas, copies of reports, and the minutes themselves.

General Meeting minutes (1835- 1990) record the larger meetings called by the President to elect officers, receive annual reports, form committees, and otherwise express the intentions of the Society as a whole. These include Annual, Semi-Annual, Preparatory, and various Special Meetings. Bound minutes exist from 1835 to 1960. Foldered material runs from 1950 to 1990.

Minutes of the Board of Managers (1884 - 1989) record monthly meetings that address changes in membership, review monthly financial and charity reports, and attend to other business as needed. Bound volumes cover the period from 1884 to 1966. Foldered material exists from 1953 to 1989.

Some of what is contained in General Meeting minutes in relation to reports and officers can also be found in the subseries Annual Reports. Likewise, information related to the membership of individuals in the Society can also be found in the series Membership.

Annual reports published by the Saint Andrew's Society of the State of New York contain summaries of activity which may include: lists of officers and committees; financial statements; reports from Secretaries, Almoners, various committees, and other officers; lists of active members; "in memoriam" notices; and the organization's constitution.

Annual reports from the years 1873 to 1976 are bound in hardcover volumes. Duplicate paperback volumes are housed separately.

Brief printed notices contain lists of officers, reports of the Secretary, meeting schedules, statements regarding dues, and other announcements. They are arranged chronologically.

The Society periodically produced publications, in addition to the annual reports, that compiled various types of organizational information. These items include governing rules and narrative histories that describe the leadership and activities of the organization over time. They are arranged chronologically.

Governance Committee Records primarily document the process of selecting members to lead and administer the work of the organization. The Nominating Committee selected officers, chaplains, physicians, and members of the Banquet Committee. The Standing Committee appointed a Finance Committee and attended to other executive business. The subseries contains correspondence, meeting minutes, lists of candidates, and related material.

General files held by the Recording Secretary document the routine administrative affairs of the Society. Correspondence frequently involves presidents and other officers in the organization. Material is arranged chronologically.

The subseries contains ledger volumes that detail individual requests for aid and corresponding disbursements made by the Society. The volumes are in chronological order.

The reports contain monthly summaries of individual cases overseen by the Almoner. The files are ordered chronologically

The subseries contains files kept by the Almoner related to individual applicants and recipients of aid. Material includes correspondence, applications, and related documentation. The files are arranged alphabetically according the the applicant's name.

The President's Fund was established in 1944 in response to the effects of World War II in Scotland. Separate from the Permanent Fund, which could only be spent in New York, it allowed the Society to supply aid to Scottish charities at the discretion of the President. Records in this subseries consist chiefly of correspondence related to individual donors and recipient organizations. There are also administrative reports on the status of the fund.

The Scholarship Fund (1955 – 1992) was established as part of the Society's Bicentennial celebrations. For the majority of its history, it provided financial aid to Scottish students wishing to study in American universities and vice versa.

The subseries contains historical lists of members compiled mostly during the early 20th century.

Member applications contain information about individuals wishing to join the Society. Volumes are arranged chronologically. Within the volumes, however, the applications are organized alphabetically by name. See also the subseries Member Files, which contains unbound applications.

Member Files contain application materials and correspondence related to an individual's involvement in the Society. All refer to inactive members. "Archived" Member Files reflect the filing system from about the 1990s to the time of accession. They therefore include the files of members active in the 1990s and 2000s. Additionally, many earlier member files, primarily although not exclusively those with last names beginning with 'A' through 'C', had been interfiled into this subseries. Member Files contain application materials and correspondence related to an individual's involvement in the Society. All refer to inactive members. "Unarchived" Member Files reflect the filing system from about the 1850s to the 1980s, and the files remain housed in their original envelopes. See also previous subseries Archived Member Files.

This subseries contains ephemera and transcriptions of the proceedings at the Society's Anniversary Banquets. Included are menus, programs that detail guests and seating arrangements, and in some cases, the text of speeches given on the occasion. Bound volumes are arranged first, followed by foldered material. Duplicate items are housed separately.

This subseries contains records produced by the committees responsible for organizing events held by the Society. The primary events concerned are the Anniversary Banquets, Golf Tournaments, and Tartan Balls. Material is arranged chronologially.

This subseries contains photographs documenting the social and cultural events held by the society. The majority are focused on Anniversary Banquets and gatherings related to Tartan Week.

Reproductions, scrapbooks, clippings, and ephemera span nearly the full history of the institution.
