The Federation of Shorthand Reporters Records date from 1968 to 1986 and contain contracts, correspondence, clippings, and legal filings that document the union's strikes, resolved grievances, arbitration, association with District Council 1707, and general membership.

A large portion of the collection consists of files from legal counsel representing the union in arbitrations and an anti-trust case. Files on the union's Ad Hoc Computer Committee are also included.
