Abstract
Kenneth P. Neilsen is an educator, artist, composer, publisher and author, and friend of Frederic Ewen. Ewen (1899-1989) was a professor of English from Brooklyn College who was forced to resign in 1952 because of his progressive politics and resistance to McCarthyism, and who later formed a theater company. The collection contains correspondence, notes, clippings, and playbills.
Historical/Biographical Note
Kenneth P. Neilsen is an educator, artist, composer publisher and author, and was a Friend of Frederic Ewen (1899-1989), a professor of English from Brooklyn College who was forced to resign in 1952 because of his progressive politics and resistance to McCarthyism, and who later formed a theater company that produced plays. Neilson co-operated with Ewen in several such endeavors.
