Scope and Content Note
This large series spans 11 linear feet, housing 466 individual items – VHS tapes, DVDs, audio recordings (reel-to-reel, cassette and CD), as well as a few older formats which cover more than fifty years of Howard Zinn's teaching, activism and public appearances. Class lectures and discussions are common as well as appearances by Zinn on radio programs as an interviewee, guest speaker or lecturer. The VHS tapes and DVDs also include performances of Zinn's plays and readings as well as a rough cut of You Can't be Neutral on a Moving Train.
In addition to Zinn, other notable individuals such as Alice Walker, Noam Chomsky, Arundhati Roy, Eqbal Ahmad and Studs Terkel also appear.
