Series VI: Race and Civil Rights, 1932-2008, inclusive

Scope and Content Note

This series contains material reflecting Howard Zinn's involvement in the struggle for civil rights including articles and special reports written by Zinn; documents from the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), an organization for which he was an advisor; transcripts of interviews he conducted, including one with Stokely Carmichael; many clippings, court documents and publications. In addition, there is a good deal of research material on race, slavery, reconstruction and the civil rights movement.
