Scope and Contents
This small series contains assembled and varied private records from New York City families, organizations and businesses. Records of families and individuals include correspondence from the Buttersworth and Krautkopt families, the latter of which discuss the family's experiences as refugees during World War II. Indentures from the 18th and 19th centuries document property sales, primarily in the Albany, NY region. Three folders of unattributed notes and recipes reflect medical practices in the mid-1800s. There are also several personal account books and an address book included in this series. Organization and corporate records in this series include a cash book, mortgage deeds (indentures) from the Albany African Church Association, posters and shares from the Tammany Society, assorted insurance policies, and a ship's crew list.

The subseries contains personal account and address books, correspondence of the Buttersworth and Krautkopt families, photographs, indentures, invitations, scrapbooks, and negatives possibly from the Valentine family. This subseries also contains portraits of unidentified individuals and families from the 1870s and a medical notebook and medical recipes.
