Series V: Audio-Visual Material, 1953-2000, inclusive
Scope and Content Note
The final series is a group of audio cassettes and reel-to-reel tapes and one VHS cassette. Of particular interest are nine interviews with Morris Schappes. Also included are a number of WBAI broadcasts on various topics including The Merchant of Venice, "Women and Orthodoxy," and Jews and the Black Panthers. Jewish Currents-sponsored events include luncheon speeches, awards presentations and several forums and discussions. On the video cassette, Nancy Savin discusses Emma Lazarus with Schappes.
Arrangement
Materials are arranged chronologically within each subseries.
Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements Note
Due to the fragile nature of much of the original media, items in this series must have digital surrogates made before they can be used by researchers. Requests should be sent to tamiment.wagner@nyu.edu. (Note that surrogates are available for several of the interviews.)
