Abstract
Alexander Lurkis was a civil engineer and original member of the Civil Service Technical Guild, founded in 1937. From 1956-1958 Lurkis was president of AFSCME Local 375, the Civil Service Technical Guild. The collection consists of ten black and white photographs from the 1930s (circa) to the 1950s picturing Alexander Lurkis with other members of the Civil Service Technical Guild at conventions and retreats, and from the installation of Lurkin as president of AFSCME Local 375, the Civil Service Technical Guild.

Scope and Content Note
Ten black and white photographs from the 1930s (circa) to the 1950s picturing Alexander Lurkis with other members of the Civil Service Technical Guild. Includes group photographs of Lurkis with other delegates to conventions of the Civil Service Association of the State of New York, including the 1938 convention in Albany, one year after the Guild was organized; group photographs from retreats; and photographs from 1955-1957 of the installation of Lurkis and other officers of the Civil Service Technical Guild AFSCME AFL-CIO. Some photographs are annotated and include Guild presidents Philip Brueck and Joseph Collins.
