This collection is comprised of two different, but related groups of postcards and trading cards about the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). The use of visual propaganda to garner support was an instrumental and influential strategy employed by both factions.

This collection is comprised of two different, but related groups of postcards and trading cards about the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). Both factions used visual propaganda in the forms of posters, postcards, and trading cards to garner support. This Spanish Civil War ephemera demonstrates the sways in which commercial marketing strategies were used to mobilize people to action.
More than 400 postcards (both black and white and color; with both graphic and photographic images) dating from or related to the Spanish Civil War arranged in three binders. In addition to the main collection of original postcards there is a small box of reproduction cards.
