Scope and Contents
This series consists almost entirely of correspondence from the 1970s and 1980s to and from Martin regarding her research on the Abraham Lincoln Brigade and the nurses and medical personnel in the Medical Bureau and North American Committee to Aid Spanish Democracy. The series also includes a small number of photographs, some of which appear to date from the 1930s in Spain during the Spanish Civil War. Explanatory notes attached to various documents, groups of documents and folders were written by Tobyanne Berenberg, Martin's daughter.
