Scope and Contents

This accretion to the Fredericka Martin Papers consists of materials created and collected by Martin and her daughter TobyAnne Berenberg documenting Martin's experiences as a nurse in the Spanish Civil War, her life in Mexico, and her career as a writer. Materials include personal correspondence, diaries, biographical information about Martin, newspaper clippings on subjects of interest to Martin, and published writings. Many folders in this accretion contain an explanatory note by Berenberg describing the materials' significance in the context of Martin's life.
