Abstract
Architect Stanley R. Rosenberg worked with several architectural firms, including Hausman & Rosenberg, designing a variety of buildings such as community centers, synagogues and high-rise office buildings.
Biographical Note
Stanley R. Rosenberg (b. 1923) attended Brooklyn College from 1941-1943 before obtaining his Bachelor of Architecture from Columbia University in 1952. He worked in several architectural firms before becoming a partner in Sirof & Rosenberg in 1954, which became Sirof, Rosenberg & Sivertsen in 1955. Rosenberg held an individual practice from 1958 to 1960. In July 1960 he joined with architect Alvin W. Hausman, forming Hausman & Rosenberg Architects. The two worked together on projects ranging from community centers to high-rise office buildings, until the firm dissolved in 1977.

Scope and Content Note
The Stanley R. Rosenberg Architectural Records span the period from 1952-1985 and primarily contains photographs, slides, negatives and printed material related to architectural projects designed by Rosenberg and his various architectural firms. Projects include apartment buildings, community centers, firehouses, hotels, offices, private residences, restaurants, schools, stores and synagogues. The collection is divided into three series: Stanley R. Rosenberg Project Files; Hausman & Rosenberg Project Files; and Office Files.

Scope and Contents note
Series I. Stanley R. Rosenberg Project Files contains photographs, slides, negatives and other printed material, mainly publicity, related to projects done by Stanley Rosenberg as well as the firms Sirof & Rosenberg and Sirof, Rosenberg & Sivertsen. Images include both photographs of finished projects as well as copy photographs of presentation drawings. Projects include Avenue Z Jewish Center & Talmud Torah, Harbor Hills Country Club, Manhasset Lakeville Firehouse, and Monaco Surf Club. Richard Averill Smith photographed the Harbor Hills Country Club; his negatives and prints are located in this series.
Oversize material includes mounted photographs of the Canon Camera Showroom and the Harbor Hills Country Club and reproductions of presentation drawings for an unidentified commercial project as well as the Mack Residence. Oversize flat files contain two presentation drawings for Eastwood Village and one presentation aerial perspective drawing for the Hodson Community Center.
Several 8" x 10" negatives from this series are severely deteriorated. These negatives have been separated for conservation reasons, and can be found in Box 5, Rehoused Negatives.

Series II: Hausman & Rosenberg Project Files
Scope and Contents note
Series II. Hausman & Rosenberg Project Files includes visual and printed material for projects designed by the firm of Hausman & Rosenberg. Copy negatives and photographs of presentation drawings make up the bulk of these files. Research material and slides of completed projects are also included. The firm designed animal hospitals, apartment buildings, libraries, office buildings, schools, and synagogues. Projects include the Lincoln Square Synagogue, Eleanor Roosevelt Houses and several branches of the Trade Bank & Trust Company.
Oversize material includes photographs of Brookdale Institute for Talmudic Studies, Cryder House, the 1964 World's Fair Hell Drivers Exhibit, Trade Bank & Trust and Vitarine Pharmaceutical Branch. Presentation drawings include a reproduction of a drawing for the firm's Lido Beach Apartment project and original drawings of a storefront at 601 Madison Avenue and the Engine Co. 9, Ladder Co. 6 firehouse. A reproduction of a presentation drawing showing the Cryder House lobby is located in the Oversize flat files.
