Series I contains material documenting the early life of BJK and the Moffitt family. Subseries I.A. includes records documenting BJK's childhood and early education. Materials include documents from Sunday School at First Church of the Brethren Church, school progress reports and report cards from Long Beach Public Schools, academic assignments and notebooks, high school yearbooks, a sorority fabric swatch, programs for BJK's high school commencement ceremony, and a copy of BJK's birth certificate. The bulk date of material is 1949-1961, with the birth certificate dated 2006 to reflect the year requested and delivered.
