The Food Studies Ephemera Collection consists of pamphlets, recipe booklets, and other food- and cookery-related ephemera donated to Fales by various donors.


The Collection is arranged alphabetically by subject, followed by subsequent accretion entries.

The Food Studies Ephemera Collection consists of printed ephemera (primarily pamphlets and recipe booklets) having to do with food and cookery. The bulk of the materials are from the mid-twentieth century.

Materials gifted by various donors from 2011 to 2019. The accession numbers associated with this collection are 2011.310, 2014.412, 2015.310, 2018.094, and 2019.051.

The items in the Food Studies Ephemera Collection have been donated to NYU by a number of individuals from the general public.

Processing Information

Decisions regarding arrangement, description, and physical interventions for this collection prior to 2019 have not yet been recorded.

In February 2019 materials from Box 7 from accession 2015.310 were rehoused into two new archival boxes, Box 7 and Box 11. Booklets were found loose in the box upon inspection. Files were placed in archival folders and given titles.

In August 2019, the accretion material was placed in acid-free folders and boxes.
