Abstract
Holly Anderson was a poet and designer whose work was exhibited in museums and galleries in the United States and Europe. This collection consists of poems and artwork from her time in New York in the 1980s and 1990s, plus some later music CDs.
Biographical / Historical
Holly Anderson was a poet and designer whose work was exhibited in museums and galleries in the United States and Europe from the 1980s through 2005. Born in Minnesota in 1955, she graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
She published her fiction and poetry in university and small presses throughout the United States and Canada. She also wrote texts for theatre and choreographers, including Paradise for the Worried, Working Order, and the Hell Dances.
Lyrics and recordings include Consonant, Love and Affliction, and New Randy. She also worked with the post-punk band, Mission of Burma.
She had been writer-in-residence at Smith, Bates, and Colorado colleges, and a guest lecturer at New York University and the University of Illinois at Champagne-Urbana.
Holly Anderson died December 2017.

The Holly Anderson Papers consist of writings and graphics by Anderson, plus recordings of her works. The collection also contains correspondence and publicity materials related to exhibitions of her works and works by other artists.
