Scope and Contents
The series contains audiovisual recordings in a variety of formats, including VHS cassettes, Betamax cassettes, Hi-8 cassettes, 8 mm cassettes, 3/4 inch tapes, 16 mm film reels, Mini DVs, DVDs, and audio cassettes. Subjects vary, and include events (especially graduation ceremonies), student theatrical performances, interviews with students and alumni, educational films, teacher seminars, and promotional videos. The tapes and reels date from 1933 to 2010.

Scope and Contents
This sub-series consists of Packer Institute's Day in the Life school production materials. Arranged by material type, this sub-series covers a time span of 1995-1996, with a significant portion highlighting 1995. A Day in the Life series highlights interview questions and discussions asked to a select 17 students and staff at Packer Institute to show the impact of Packer on their lives as well as show how they impact life at Packer. Interviewees are asked about academics, extracurricular activities, the building and grounds, interactions with students and faculty, and every day occurrences at Packer.
The 17 students and faculty interviewed for this production were: Erin Burke, Simone Callendar, Garfield Davidson, Abigail Hooper, Peter Kelly, Vanessa Olivieri, Chartey Quanceo, Susan Roos, Alliyah Rosenthall, Cynthia Rothschild, Ken Rush, Barbara Seadon, Denise Schweid, Ben Shopsin, Sueta Srinivasen, Laura Zinck, and Erland Zygmuntowicz.
Materials and Condition: Media formats include beta video tapes, Sony digital audio tapes, Hi8 tapes, and 3/4 inch tapes. A majority of the media used for this production was recorded by Winton DuPont Films. There are also film scripts and interview questions which are both on camera and off, and production notes. Film scripts are in good condition and transcribed by Herman S. Jaffe.

Extent
Scope and Contents
The sub-sub-series consists of audio recordings relating to Packer, primarily audio cassettes with a few magnetic tapes, dating from 1946 to 1999. Included in the collection are various graduations and ceremonies throughout the years at Packer. For example, the introduction ceremony for Geoffrey Pierson in 1990. In addition, there are tapes documenting important seminars: ATIS (Association of Teachers of Independent Schools), meetings as early as 1980, NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools), on the role of the arts in education, and yearly NAIS meetings. Copies of a 1977 performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore, and a teacher's clarinet concert are among the series performance section. Finally, the miscellaneous material includes one tape in which the connection to Packer is unclear – a radio show playing music from the 1950s.

Scope and Contents
The sub-series contains video recordings on VHS cassettes, DVDs, one Hi-8 cassette, and one Mini DV, dating from 1980s-2012. They include recordings on Packer events (especially graduations), promotional videos, educational seminars, and local news stories relating to Packer.
It includes a copy of the 1952 May Day celebration and commencement that has been transferred from film to VHS.

1988 February 16. VHS tape. Produced by WPIX Inc (NY). Tape is accompanied by letter dated March 24, 1988 from Warren Dean of WPIX Inc., addressed to MR. Hal Wicke, Director of Public Affairs at Packer. "Best Talk in Town" segment on Schomburg Center (and its role in preserving African American culture) is followed by an expose on student life at Packer. Narrator Warren Dean asks Packer students and teachers to identify Packer's special characteristics (in terms of teaching styles and learning environment). Video/audio quality is moderate. This is a 5th generation copy.

Next, there is a brief feature on the Packer Maintenance Department. Then, there are excerpts from a May Day Dance from May 14, 1999. Lastly, there is unedited footage of Packer's elementary-level classrooms. Moderate video quality.
