This collection contains materials documenting Edward L. Hyman's career in entertainment, including a scrapbook relating to his time as Manager of the Mark Strand Theatre, clippings, articles, reports, speeches, trade press publications, and other information on motion picture distribution.
Biographical Note
Edward L. Hyman was born in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1894. He began his career as a manager of the Victoria Theatre in 1917. He also managed the Mark Strand Theatre in Brooklyn from 1920 to 1927, and managed several other theatres before becoming Vice President of the American Broadcasting-Paramount Theatres, Inc., a position he held from 1950 to 1965.
