Abstract
A handwritten manuscript of an 1834 address given by George Hall (1795-1868) to the Brooklyn Board of Trustees of Brooklyn upon his election as Mayor.
Biographical note
George Hall (1795-1868) was born in the town of Flatbush and attended Erasmus High School. In 1826 and 1832 he was elected trustee of Brooklyn's third ward. In 1834, as Brooklyn became incorporated, the Board of Alderman selected him as the new city's Mayor.
