Biographical Note
Richard Nicolls (1624-1672) was the first English colonial governor of New York. He served from 1664, when the English won control of the province from the Dutch, to 1668.

Land patent for the town of Breuckelen, issued by New York Governor Richard Nicolls in an apparent reconfirmation of an earlier Dutch patent. The patent is signed by Nicolls and dated 1667. A typed copy is also included.
