Abstract
The Frank R. Oakley Civil War papers consist primarily of transciptions of orders issued by Stephen Mallory, Secretary of the Confederate Navy during the American Civil War, to naval officers in Richmond Virginia and elsewhere, dated 1862. Accompanying these documents are two letters written to Oakley by United States Secretary of State William H. Seward, dated 1865.

The Frank R. Oakley Civil War papers consist primarily of transciptions of orders issued by Stephen Mallory, Secretary of the Confederate Navy during the American Civil War, to naval officers in Richmond Virginia and elsewhere, dated 1862. Accompanying these documents are two letters written to Oakley by United States Secretary of State William H. Seward, dated 1865. These letters thank Oakley for sending Seward copies of Mallory's orders.
