Abstract
Two photographs of the storefront at 67 5th Avenue in Park Slope, one from 1910 and one from circa 2020s.
Historical note
The Brooklyn neighborhood of Park Slope was first developed after the completion of Prospect Park in 1867 and street railways were extended into the area in the 1870s. While mansions and grand residences were built close to the park, more modest dwellings and businesses were built in other parts of the neighborhood. These working class areas were mostly populated by Irish immigrants. 5th Avenue, where the building in these photographs is located, has long been a commercial corridor. In 1974, part of the neighborhood was named as a historic district, the largest in Brooklyn. The neighborhood has been through many changes in its demographic makeup and cost of living, and is currently one of the more expensive neighborhoods in Brooklyn.

The storefront is located between St. Marks Avenue and Prospect Place in Park Slope. Montalbano's business was called The 5th Ave. Repairing Co.
