Abstract

Edward Johnston was a resident of Brooklyn at least in the 1950s and 1990s. He was a member of the 77th Reconnaissance Company of the 77th Infantry Division, and served during World War II. He later became involved in the St. Stanislaus Memorial Post 1771 of the American Legion in Greenpoint. This collection include three folders of photographs, including images of Edward Johnston as a young man in military uniform, unidentified photographs of family members, and photographs from St. Stanislaus Memorial Post 1771 of the American Legion in Greenpoint.

Biographical / Historical

Edward Johnston was a resident of Brooklyn at least in the 1950s and 1990s. He was a member of the 77th Reconnaissance Company of the 77th Infantry Division, and served during World War II. He later became involved in the St. Stanislaus Memorial Post 1771 of the American Legion in Greenpoint. He served as the Post's Commanding Officer from 1991-1993 and again from 1994-1995. Johnston worked for 36 years at the Man-Dell supermarket chain.

This collection include three folders of photographs, including images of Edward Johnston as a young man in military uniform, unidentified photographs of family members, and photographs from St. Stanislaus Memorial Post 1771 of the American Legion in Greenpoint.
