The Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), founded in 1966 by attorneys who represented civil rights movements in the South, is dedicated to advancing and protecting the rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. CCR is a non-profit legal and educational organization committed to the use of law as a force for social change. Some issues CCR works on is illegal detention and Guantanamo, surveillance and attacks on dissent, criminal justice and mass incarcerations, corporate human rights abuse, government abuse of power, racial and gender justice, and international law and accountability.
