This is the news web site of the Northern California Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism. Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism consists of people of all races and national backgrounds who are committed to the struggle for democracy and socialism. The name is taken from the history of the U.S. revolutionary war against British colonialism. In the 1770s, Committees of Correspondence were formed in all 13 colonies and became the catalyst for united action against British oppression. The CCDS was founded ca. 1990, in large part by dissident members of the Communist Party USA. The website contains news postings related to the Northern California branch of the CCDS.
