Scope and Contents
The records include Executive Board minutes (1938-1974), general and officers correspondence (including substantial files of letters from members), general files which reflect significant events (such as strikes, conventions, and union elections) and all aspects of relations with employers, government bodies, other unions, divisions of the Local, and political candidates and organizations. A number of files reflect the Local's intense interest in Irish affairs and its commitment to civil rights. Also includes the archived website for the union, dating from 2007 to the present day. Scope and Contents
Crawling of the TWU Local 100 website began in 2007. Overall, the website contains news from the union; photographs from events and actions; and information on their bylaws, constitution, contract, union elections, union services, benefits, political action campaigns, automatic dues collection, and officers. Issues of their publication, Local 100 Express date back to 2006. The website also focuses on the different departments of Local 100 (Car Equipment; Private Bus Lines; Maintenance of Way; Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority; Rapid Transit Operations; Stations; and the Transit Authority Surface) and featured departmental newsletters and contact information of leadership. In 2010, the website redesigned, and additional services and committees of the union documented on the website include the Childcare Fund; Widows and Orphans Fund; the Women's Committee; Retirees Association; the Training and Upgrading Fund; the September 11 Recognition Project; the Disaster Relief Fund; Central Park horse carriage workers; and fixing Tier 6 pensions. In 2010, the Transport Workers Bulletin launched. From 2015-2018, Pete Donahue maintained a column on the website, entitled, "Donahue's Quill." In 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the website began to memorialize members who had contracted and died of the disease while on the job, as well as prepare membership on how to work safely during the pandemic. The pandemic led to calls for hazard pay by the union. The website also featured contract negotiation documentation in 2011 and 2023.

Appraisal
Robots.txt was ignored.
Crawl was limited to domains and subdomains of twulocal100.org, twulocal100.info, upload.twulocal100.org, and padlet.net in order to remain within the collection scope and data constraints.
Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
Due to technical or privacy issues, archived websites may not be exact copies of the original website at the time of the web crawl. Certain file types will not be captured dependent on how they are embedded in the site. Other parts of websites that the crawler has difficulty capturing includes Javascript, streaming content, database-driven content, and highly interactive content. Full-Text searches of archived websites are available at https://archive-it.org/organizations/567.
