Scope and Contents note
This series contains election fliers, ballot and campaign materials from the 1950s through the 1980s that offer insight into the evolution of the union. A union label file provides excellent and colorful examples of union labels for bread. Also of interest are the files that document corruption within the baking trade in the early 1960s (See: James Cross; Daniel Motto). Many of these subject files may have been used as research material in the monthly publication of "The Local 3 News." Michael Sandroff's notes for the Local 3's 1967 publication of its history, "Progress Through Unity," can also be found here as can his unpublished memoir "I Paid My Dues."
