Series IV: Shop Files, 1964-1989, inclusive

All materials dealing with contract negotiation and disputes pertaining to a particular shop or company can be found in these files. Represented here are Local 3's bargaining sessions and agreements with small family-run bake shops, as well as protracted negotiations with corporate entities such as Drakes, Entenmann's and Ellio's Pizza House. In 1974 fierce negotiations took place between union and management at Ellio's -- a tri-lingual shop. Of particular interest are the leaflets in English, Greek, and Spanish that were generated during the conflict. Matzoh-Noodle Shops, Bagel Shops, and the New Jersey Division held separate collective bargaining sessions and files document these negotiations. In a sub-series called "Shops Closed" are the records that the union kept from 1964 - 1976 of shops that either went out of business or ended their union affiliation.
