Scope and Content Note

Local 802 of the American Federation of Musicians is a local union of professional musicians living or working in New York City, Nassau and Suffolk counties, New York. The union's mission is to fight for the interests and well being of the musicians employed in New York's music and entertainment industries through organizing and collective bargaining as well as through legislative and political action. The website contains agreements and contracts, their Allegro magazine and other news postings, and event listings.

The Musicians' Emergency Relief Fund is a fund for members of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 802. The website contains assistance applications, board of trustees and supporter information, initiatives and event information that fund raise for the fund, information on services to support member musicians, and testimonials from fund recipients. Musicians of the New York City Ballet is a unit of the American Federation of Musicians Local 802, which represents the orchestra of the New York City Ballet.
