Abstract

Kevin Keating is a writer and activist involved in the anti-gentrification and anti-Yuppie movements in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1980s and 1990s. He was a founding member of the Mission Yuppie Eradication Project in the late 1990s. His work is heavily informed by the Situationist International. This collection consists of manuscripts of Kevin Keating's writings focused on anti-capitalist activism in the San Francisco Bay Area dated from the 1980s through 2000s. The bulk of this collection consists of the manuscript for Subversion in Capitalism America: A User's Manual. Other writings focus on topics such as socialism, gentrification, rent strikes, and the Occupy movement.

The bulk of this collection consists of the manuscript for Subversion in Capitalism America: A User's Manual. Other writings focus on topics such as socialism, gentrification, rent strikes, and the Occupy movement. The manuscripts also include photocopies of contemporary newspaper articles and ephemera collected by Keating.
