The Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) is an activist organization addressing a variety of issues including world disarmament, full rights for women, racial and economic justice, and ending all forms of violence. Founded in 1915 by some 1,300 women from Europe and North America, WILPF is organized in 37 countries and lobbies governments at the international, national and local levels. The New York Metropolitan Branch of WILPF was established in 1920.

The Women's International League for Peace and Freedom Records (1985-2009, ongoing) contains records from the organization on various campaigns, especially disarmament, nuclear non-proliferation, anti-Iraq War, anti-World Trade Organization actions, anti-corporate campaigns, and labor issues. Genres of documents include correspondence, clippings, meeting minutes, reports, newsletters, flyers, and websites. The collection also contains some of the fundraising and financial documents generated by WILPF. A significant portion of the collection was generated by the New York Metropolitan Branch.

Archive-It uses web crawling technology to capture websites at a scheduled time and displays only an archived copy, from the resulting WARC file, of the website. Scope and Content Note
This component contains the websites for the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), both the international and United States branches. The websites feature current projects, news listings, Peace & Freedom publication, annual reports, strategic planning, 100th anniversary materials, branch expansion and membership tools, and other resources.
This component also includes their Caesura podcast which analyzed the poetry of Colombian poet Ángela Ramos; a website focusing on feminist guides, knowledge tools, videos, and infographics on various feminist issues that WILPF developed in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA); the Political is Personal podcast; a Trello board created by WILPF related to their In Solidarity with Ukraine campaign, created in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022; a website made up of a series of essays that analyzed the impact the General Framework Agreement for Peace, also known as the Dayton Peace Agreement, that brokered peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina; and a the WILPF-US campaign related to the use of herbicides on crops.
This component also contains the websites for two WILPF projects: Women, Peace and Security Programme (PeaceWomen) and Reaching Critical Will. The Reaching Critical Will focuses event listings, disarmament fora, publications, research and advocacy projects, statements, resolutions, and news. The PeaceWomen website contains their newsletter, publications, initiatives and event listings, a civil organizations database, and tools and resources. PeaceWomen also created a microsite documenting the UNSCR National Action Plans, which are national-level strategy documents that outline a government's approach and course of action for localizing action on the Women, Peace and Security Agenda.

Robots.txt (a piece of code designed to limit crawler activity within a website) was ignored. Scope was expanded to better captured pages on http://www.reachingcriticalwill.org/ and https://www.peacewomen.org/. http://wilpfus.org/ was scoped to limit crawler traps.

Due to technical or privacy issues, archived websites may not be exact copies of the original website at the time of the web crawl. Certain file types will not be captured dependent on how they are embedded in the site. Other parts of websites that the crawler has difficulty capturing includes Javascript, streaming content, database-driven content, and highly interactive content.
