Series I: Biographical: Childhood and Youth, 1890-1941, inclusive

Contains personal papers of the Marzani family, beginning with Carl's parent's legal documents from Rome, dated 1890s, (such as Italian passports). Also included are Carl Marzani's report cards from elementary schools in Rome, and his high school and college literary periodicals, of which he acted as editor. Of particular note are the journals that Carl and Edith Marzani kept while they hitch-hiked around the world, which reveal their growing interest in politics (Box 2, folders 6 & 7).
