Scope and Content Note

Series IV: Journalism Career, consists of five chronologically arranged subseries that represent the different newspapers and the various cities in which she lived and worked, and which primarily contain copies of Gardner's articles, and correspondence. The subseries and employment/residence dates are: A. Chicago Tribune(1930-1941); B. Federated Press (Washington D.C., 1942-1943); C. New Masses(Washington D.C., 1943-1947); D. Los Angeles (1947-1952), Peoples World; E. New York (1952-1980s), Daily Workerand after.
