Series II: 35 Millimeter Negatives, 1918-2006, inclusive

Contains black and white and color 35 millimeter film, spread over nearly 18,000 shoots, comprising an estimated 648,000 individual images, dating mainly from 1968 to 1990. Of particular significance are photos of demonstrations against the draft and Vietnam War, and in support of Angela Davis, Communist Party of the United States of America candidates for election, and pictures of daily life in New York City in the mid-20th century. About half of these images have matching contact sheets, identifiable by their corresponding shoot numbers (these images may be more easily viewed through contact sheets than their original negatives). Shoot numbers from 1986 – 1990 correspond (with some gaps) to shoot numbers on the log sheets (which on occasion may provide additional documentation for the images).
