Series II: Subject Files

Contains images of events, organizations and other subjects. Care was taken to maintain original groupings of files. Of particular significance are groups of files titled "African American Cases," documenting instances of racial prejudice and injustice; "Labor Organizations," with images of strikes, demonstrations, meetings, and other actions by labor unions and associations around the world; "Films," containing promotional photos from motion pictures produced in the United States and elsewhere; "May Day Parades and Celebrations," depicting almost one hundred years of these events; and photos of Communist or formerly Communist countries around the world. Demonstrations, marches, and protest rallies of all kinds are also prominent among these images.
