Series X: Community Services, 1963-1977, undated, inclusive

Series X: Community Services, 1963-1977, documents the activities of the New York City Central Labor Council's Community Services Committee. The Community Services Committee, founded in 1953, achieved many of its goals through the formation of various subcommittees, such as the Subcommittee on Aging and the Rehabilitation Council. Under a grant from the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, the Rehabilitation Council was formed in 1963, and has come to be known as the "Social Service Arm of the Trade Union Movement."
