Series V: Subway Construction Photographs

Scope and Contents note

Series V contains 110 photographs taken by the Public Service Commission between 1913 and 1938 to document the New York City subway construction. The photographs here are roughly grouped by subject and are mostly underground views. Weindorf may have used these photographs as visual sources for his drawings and models, especially those photographs of tunnels. Researchers should consult the Print Room's Subway Construction Photograph Collection (PR 069) for a description of these photographs.
