Scope and Contents Note
The series includes Library management's copies of Board of Trustee meeting materials, principally those of the Library Committee. The series also holds the Library's work files and other underlying material prepared in support of Board and Board Committee deliberations. As of 2017, only Library Committee reports to 1959 are open for research. See the Access Restrictions note.
Access Restrictions
N-YHS generally restricts the records of the Board and the Executive Office for fifty years following the conclusion of the tenure of a President and CEO (formerly, Director). Accordingly, only those few files in the series dating up to 1959 are open. Subsequent files relate to the tenure of James Heslin (1960-1982) and later administrations, and so are restricted until 2033 and later.
