Series II: Jay Treaty

This series contains the documents generated by John Trumbull while acting as commissioner charged with settling the 7th article of the Jay Treaty between the U.S. and Great Britain. These materials include claims, notes and accounts regarding the complaints and requests for compensation submitted by various merchants who believed they had sustained considerable loss and damage as a result of their vessels and other property being unlawfully captured during the American Revolution.
