Colonial Bank & Bank of the United States | Miscellaneous, 1929-1930, inclusive

Box: 1, Folder: 13 (Material Type: Mixed Materials)

Scope and Contents

Includes letters documenting Sharman's appointment as assistant cashier of the Colonial Bank (corner of Columbus Avenue and 81st Street, Manhattan) in 1929, and the bank's merger with the Bank of the United States, which took place in April 1929. The condition, officers, and staff of the latter (including Sharman) are given in a pamphlet dated 29 May 1930.

An anomaly in this folder, perhaps kept by Sharman as a curiosity, is a draft for $100,000, dated 24 January 1871 and issued by the Bank of New York to Lees & Waller.
