Series III. Writings, 1968-2017, inclusive

This series contains Doroshow's writings including scripts, articles, reviews, notes, and proposed books. Of note in this series is a significant and rare collection of over 80 issues of the publication Michael's Thing, a weekly guide to New York City and a benficial resource of listings for clubs and businesses connected to the gay community during the 1970s and 1980s. Doroshow was a contributing writer for this publication. Michael's Thing offered celebrity interviews, articles, film reviews, party announcements, and advertisements for clubs and amenities for the gay community, dating from the 1970s to the 2000s. This subseries also contains a large number of Doroshow's legal pads, notebooks, sketch pads, and loose notes kept throughout his lifetime, filled with fragments of writing ideas, sketches, production notes, brief journal entries, quotes (his and others), and grocery and to do lists. This series also contains proposals for Doroshow's books, How to Enjoy Gay Sex and Flawless Sabrina's Cooking Guide for Single Men, neither of which were published.
